The following materials are made available for each activity designed for Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary school students:

  • Learning sequence containing the following information: abstract, duration of the activity, target audience, how to organize the activity, materials required, prerequisites required to conduct the activity objectives, and expected learning outcomes.

  • Video tutorials of the activity

Every single material is opensource and usable by anyone interested in conducting the activities.

Instructional activities will enable the teacher to work with the whole class and particularly with students with special needs.

Primary I-II

Animals

The activity involves the children interacting with the humanoid robot Nao, who will provide suggestions for the children to find specific animals within a room. The robot to help them will also be able to make the noises of the animals that the kids need to look for. Once the kids find the animal, they will have to show the robot the Nao mark present on top of the animal or the card representing the animal.

Primary I-II

Human body activity

The activity involves the teacher presenting cards with pictures related to various body parts; Nao will make some body movements and mention the body part he puts into motion, ask the children to imitate the movement and search inside the room for the card that corresponds to the action performed. Once the card is found, the children will have to show it to the robot, which will provide information about the correction of the card found.

Primary III-IV

Water cycle

The activity includes an initial phase in which the teacher talks with the robot Nao on the topic of the water cycle. Next, Nao will ask the children to show him cards depicting a Bird of Thunder, Zeus, The Dragon of the Seven Seas, and Niobe. Nao will explain that other peoples have told mythologies about the water cycle, telling of legendary figures, gods and spirits they controlled. As a final activity, children will be able to draw or copy one of the characters presented by Nao.

Environments

The activity involves students learning to recognize the different environments on Earth (desert, forest, urban landscape). The activity also involves researching some information about the environments (where are they located? What are the
main ones? What vegetation is present? What animals live there? Is man present?) and represent an environment through a map in the notebook.

Primary V

Geometry

The activity involves the children in the first stage playing and reviewing geometric figures, drawing them, building them or going over the outline of a predetermined figure with a marker. Next, the robot will describe the figures that the child needs to look for within the room and ask them to show them and say the correct name of the figure. Upon seeing the figure, the robot will say the correct name of the figure and congratulate the children if they guessed correctly.

Digestive System

The activity involves identifying the organs of the digestive system and recognizing how different organs function. Students will have the opportunity to illustrate the pathway of food through the digestive system and recount the mechanical and chemical transformations of nutrients within the digestive tract.
